A little bit of our history

La Cala de Mijas is a town belonging to the municipality of Mijas, in the province of Malaga, located in the autonomous community of Andalusia, southern Spain.

In the middle of the Costa del Sol, La Cala de Mijas is located in the coastal area of the municipality, except for some rocks that lie between the limits of Fuengirola, east and Marbella, to the west. La Cala de Mijas is a small town center less than a kilometer in length.

With a population of more than 2.000 inhabitants, the town is dedicated to sun and beach tourism and residential, although it has some municipal services such as health centers, schools, houses of culture and library, which are located in La Cala de Mijas and which, although located in the municipality, are intended for all residents of the coastal area of the municipality of Mijas.

Of ecological importance is the marine bottom of the coast of Mijas that harbors a great biodiversity in which a great number of species coexist European, African, Atlantic and Mediterranean.
